Library of an Institute is one of the most important components of its academic infrastructure. Acknowledging this fact, our Chairman, Governing Council, Mr. L N Mittal, has already announced an exclusive grant of Rs, one crore for the library during his visit to the Institute on May 01, 2005. He desired that 40,000 books be procured for the library. Shri B K Jhawar, a distinguished member of the Governing Council, also has time and again emphasized the need of a good library by stating that good library is equal to good education.

The Central Library of the Institute supports the main objective of the LNM IIT to become a world class institution in IT education and research. The library is housed in a separate two-floor building. The building is centrally air-conditioned. The extension of the library building is under way.

The library has a rich collection of books on IT, Science, Humanities and Literature. The collection includes reference books, text books, technical reports, CDs etc. It has also started subscribing research journals in IT related fields.

The computerization of the library is under process. The library functions will be managed by fully integrated multi user library management software. By using the software, cataloguing and circulation services will be automated along with OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility.
