Information Technology has pervaded all walks of life - it is changing the very face of the society and its functioning world-over - the way we interact for living, commerce, communication, entertainment, technological pursuits, or even governance. Realizing the importance of Information Technology, the Government of Rajasthan and the LAKSHMI & USHA MITTAL FOUNDATION have jointly set-up the LNM Institute of Information Technology, an autonomous non-profit organization, with the objective of producing leading professionals in the field of Information Technology with a proper blend of communication, computers, management, and social awareness.
Two disciplines of engineering that are the foundation for the IT are Communications and Computers. The Institute has three four-year undergraduate programmes,
(a) Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE),
(b) Computer Science and Engineering (CSE),
(c) Computer and Communication Engineering (CCE) ,
each one of which is a core programme of the IT. (The current fourth year though belong to a single stream i.e. CCE). These programmes have been designed to significantly contribute not only to the Communications, Computers, and IT industries but also to the academia.

The CCE discipline is a unique field in IT, which converges both Computers and Communication, leading to the development of more efficient technologies, and giving rise to advanced modes of socio-economic transactions. We at LNMIIT provide you with people capable of excelling in the technology of tomorrow.
- The institute distinguishes itself by having a faculty-student ratio of 1:20.
- The institute promotes cross-pollination, through its student exchange programme, thus facilitating exchange of ideas leading to the growth of knowledge.
- LNMIIT organizes a substantial number of workshops and seminars , thus giving its students a chance to interact with eminent industrialist and academicians.
- LNMIIT has MoUs with Aalborg University, Denmark, University of Pisa, Italy,University of Reggio, Calabria, Italy and Ericsson.
- Students go to various research labs and universities, worldwide for summer projects.
- The institute's annual tech-fest Vivacity is completely organized and managed entirely by the students which helps in strengthening their management and organizational skills.
