Good educational institutions provide their PhD students a glimpse into teaching by offering them teaching assistantships, which involve conducting labs, sometimes a tutorial, and grading. Frankly, this is the part which is not interesting to many PhD students. They do not come to know of the thrill of teaching in this fashion, and many of them are lost to academic institutes for ever.

LNMIIT intends to change that. We provide a visiting faculty position to top PhD students of good institutions in the country. We provide an opportunity for you to conduct a course independently (of course, we have the best faculty with rich and varied experience from reputed institutes like IITs, who can provide mentoring, whenever needed), and experience that thrill of teaching.

And when you are teaching only one course in the semester, you will have more than sufficient time to write your thesis (if you are at that stage), or write your papers, or do those simulations, and anything else that you want to do. If your work involves meeting your supervisor once in a while only, and most of the time you can work through email/phone, then this may be an opportunity for you. If you need to meet him/her every week, then don't consider this.

Particularly, if you are at the end of your PhD, you are already experienced through a couple of tutorials or lab sessions, you already know your stuff extremely well, and you only need a peaceful place to write those chapters, LNMIIT is a place for you. In your own campus, you know too many people, too many times they come to your room, too much distraction, and it takes several months to write that thesis of yours.

We will provide an office space, PC, printer, access to digital library, books, phone, and so on. You teach only three lectures a week, and spend rest of the time in your work. And we pay you a consolidated amount of up to Rs. 50,000 per month for the time you spend at LNMIIT. Besides, subsidized guest house accommodation may be made available. And we will take care of traveling expenses between your city and Jaipur, not just for joining and leaving at the end of the semester, but also one trip to your institution every month to meet your supervisor.
